Integrated mobility plan for Technical University in Krakow
The aim of the measure is to implement the integrated mobility plan for the Krakow University of Technology. One tangible and pioneering outcome of this measure will be the creation of an institutional consultant of mobility who will formulate strategic decisions about mobility initiatives and influence the target groups.  Objectives/ Innovative aspects Objectives:
· to introduce an integrated mobility plan for students and employees.
· to change mobility behaviour.
· to create an institutional consultant of mobility.
· to design a new Internet-based information about bicycle parking, walking initiatives, public transport.
· to offer special integrated fares for students and workers for the carpooling system.
· to increase the use of sustainable transport modes.
Innovations:
· integrated mobility plan. Krakow University of Technology will be responsible to implement the integrated mobility plan for the Krakow University of Technology. Within the measure research and technological development activities are conducted concerning:
· the preparation of the general structure of the mobility plan for the Krakow University of Technology.
· an inquiry about transport system users concerning their behaviour related to trips to work.
· an inquiry concerning users’ structure on several public transport bus lines.
· the development of the concept of better public transport connections between the campuses of Krakow University of Technology.
· the development of the technical and organisational concept of the car pooling system.
· the development of the technical and organisational concept of the bicycle path between all university campuses.
· the development of the new website for mobility information.
· the creation of an institutional consultant of mobility.
There are some demonstration activities that come with the measure including the implementation of all measures of the mobility plan for the Krakow University of Technology. The implementation phase will start in 2007. Among the expected results and targets that can be easily verified are a decrease of 5% of traffic congestion around the campuses of Krakow University of Technology, an increase of 5% in public transport patronage of employees/students and an increase of 15% in bicycle trips. There are additionally some training activities for students and employees involved in the project and for officials from two chosen institutions/companies interested in the measure. Gertz Jan

The cities of Genoa, Burgos, Krakow and Stuttgart, their public transport operators, industrial partners, and research institutions have defined a common project proposal entitled CIVITAS-CARAVEL.
