GP: Introducing a basis of geographical transport related data, Uniform transport vector map (UTVM) - Czech PDF Print E-mail


This is a national project that integrates data on all kinds of transport infrastructure in the Czech Republic (railway, road, air and domestic water transport) into a single geographical database. Other important data are added at all levels of administrational division of the country, prospective projects, various types of protected areas, regional plans, etc. All the data are continuously updated.

UTVM is also a source of data concerning transport infrastructure for the national projects Basis of geographical data and Regional and technical bases. The data are not publicly available.


Expected benefits:

UTVM is used by the Ministry of Transport and Communications as a help in the decision making process, and it is also used for the needs of state authorities and regional administration. It can be used by regional and other offices in the process of creating regional plans, etc.

Planned Course and Objectives:

* Uniform transport vector map in the Intergraph GeoMedia, ArcView and MapInfo formats to be used by organizations managing the transport infrastructure
* UTVM for extranet is made available to all authorized users to serve as a help and basis for decision making process, especially at the levels of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Czech Republic and the regional offices
