GP: Introduce clean vehicles in a large fleet of urban buses, Potenza - Italy PDF Print E-mail

With this measure, Potenza partnership is introducing clean vehicles within the urban bus fleet in order to improve a sustainable mobility development at city level.

Objectives/ Innovative Aspects

Procurement of 5 ecological buses (LPG or methane) in a large fleet of urban buses.
Innovative aspects: use of alternative vehicles within the urban fleet.

The measures

Check the number of LPG and methane filling stations within the Municipality territory and market analysis about kind of vehicles to be purchased are currently conducted. 10 LPG stations and 2 methane stations have been identified in Potenza. After this preliminary phase, the ecological buses will be purchased and implemented within the local public transport fleet.

Selections of the vehicles typology (M 9-16)
Call for tender (M 16-19)
Implementation of new vehicles in the urban fleet (M 23-48)

* Improvement of the air quality
* Reduction of operating costs
* Attracting potential demand not satisfied by the local public transport company
* Full awareness of the need of clean vehicles
