|About EST goes EAST Clearing-House|
The EST goes EAST Clearing House (EgE) seeks to promote Environmentally Sustainable Transport (EST) in Central and Eastern Europe. It is a portal that facilitates the exchange of information, knowledge and experience with EST policies and practices in Central and Eastern Europe, in particular, and in Europe more generally. The Clearing House achieves this by having:
- A searchable database of EST 'Good Practices'.
- 'Publications' that are of relevance to the implementation of sustainable transport policies.
- 'Contacts' and 'Useful Links' pages where links to relevant transport, environment and health institutions and organisations can be found, including a set of links for each country covered by the Clearing House.
- A 'Notice Board' for ad hoc announcements.
Within the 'database' of EST 'Good Practices', projects are classified as being either 'national', i.e. implemented in only one country, or 'regional', where a project or practice has been implemented in more than one country. Additionally, good practices are further categorised depending on whether they are 'strategy and policy', 'data and analysis' or a general good practice project.
The list of 'Publications' on the Clearing House contains categorised reports and publications for and by relevant international organisations, as well as for and by other relevant transport, environment and health stakeholders.
The 'Contacts' and 'Useful Links' pages contain the links of the 'EST goes EAST' project partners, as well as links to international or transnational organisations involved with the development or implementation of sustainable transport policies. There are also lists of country-specific contacts for such organisations, which can be accessed from the respective country pages.
The Clearing House was launched jointly by the OECD, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management and UNEP within the framework of the Central European Initiative.
