GP: Advanced Measures for Companies to Increase Public Transport Use of their Employees (BENEFIT) - Regional PDF Print E-mail
Summary

The aim is to conserve 2.3 million litres fuel and 5.600 tons of CO2, respectively per year by the end of the 36 month project time by using awareness raising activities, highlighting the advantages of public transport. BENEFIT concentrates on the new member states Czech Republic, Slovakia, Rumania, Bulgaria, and Slovenia as well as on the two Mediterranean countries: Italy and Spain. 7 cities from these countries are BENEFIT- project partners: Brno, Zilina, Bistrita, Sofia, Maribor, Bologna and Palma de Mallorca. The cities establish local working groups, consisting of traffic experts and representatives of public transport operators, e.g. trade unions, chambers of commerce, public transport companies, universities. Their goal is to create sustainable strategies for using public transport. Austrian Mobility Research (Graz) is the coordinator of BENEFIT

Results
  • Increase in the number of public transport passengers by active awareness raising tasks, new information paths, innovative incentives and an improved public transport offer;
  • The attractiveness of public transport is increased by companies cooperating with public transport operators;
  • Reduction of the total fuel consumption of passenger traffic by 2 % in the selected target area until the end of the project;
  • Other cities can use measures and results of BENEFIT as role models for their own mobility work;

Lessons learnt
  • Although the project has not been completed it is possible to draw the following preliminary conclusions: The creation of local stakeholder forums as an effective tool for future implementation is an essential part of the project's success.
  • Through successful awareness campaigns the project's implementation of measures will have real chances to set up sustainable strategies and rethinking about the use of public transport.

Tren InjectionMost online loan lenders allow getting New Jersey Payday Loans without visiting a bank, straight to your bank account. Since its introduction in the market buying Cialis can be exclusively in pharmacy chains with a prescription from a doctor. I agree that this is very inconvenient and takes a lot of time and effort.
