Bicycle ring in Suwalki Region
Project details and results
The Project aimed at establishment of 220km of marked bike-roads, using local path, country roads, in some parts - normal roads linking the most valuable places of Suwalki region (Suwalszczyzna) - Wigry National park, Romincka Forest Landscape Park, Rospuda Valley, unique bridge in Stanczyki. Information billboards with maps in key places were installed. From non-GEF funds watch-tower in Stary Folwark on Wigry Lake will be constructed.
Emphasis on sustainable Livelihoods
Potential growth of services provided by eco-agro-farms as a result of more tourists attracted by Suwalki region and promotion campaign (folders, maps, brochures, media) of created 220km bike system.
220km system of bike roads was marked in blue (including 560 small plaques, 10 big information billboards with maps) linking Wigry National park, Romincka Forest landscape Park, Sudawskie Mountains, Rospoda River Valley, Sejny, Punsk (capital of Lithuanian minority in Poland), Wizajny, Stanczyki and Suwalki and is passing through: Stary Folwark (Wigry National Park), Rosochaty Rog, Mikolajewo, Mackowa Ruda, Wysoki Most, Pogorzelec, Bialogory, Sejny, Zegary, Radziuce, Burbiszki, Buda ZawidugieskaPrzystawance, Trakiszki, Punsk, Wojciuliszki, Jegliniec, Podwojponie, Budzisko, Majdan, Kupowo-Folwark, Trzcianka, Folusz, Rutka-Tartak, Potopy, Ejszeryszki, Wizajny, Wizgory, Leszkieme, Mauda, Pobledzie, Degucie, Golubie, Maciejowieta, Stanczyki, Przerosl, Rahkowek, Czarne, Supienie, Wolka, Filipow, Szafranki, Garbas, Matlak, Bakalarzewo, Kotowina, Kamionka Stara, Wolka Folwark, Rabalina, Raczki, Dowspuda, Chodorki, Kurianki, Stoki, Franciszkowo, Jozefowo, Dubowo II, Suwalki.
