The city’s mayor, Dimitr Nikolov, who received the prize, stated that ‘We should fully understand the importance of sustainable development. It is a total priority.’ The Bulgarian Minister for Environment, who took part in the ceremony, expressed hope that sustainable practices would find their way into the lifestyle of Bulgarian families.
