Integrated development of public transport, Sofia - Bulgaria

Timescales: January 2010 to December 2013

The Municipality of Sofia undertook an extensive project to modernise and extend its public transport system. This included the extension of existing lines, the renewal of fleets, as well as the introduction of other improvements to the public transport to increase its attractiveness to the public.

The project involved two extensions to the city’s metro lines, which took the total length of the line from 18km to 31km. This improved connections between the main railway station and international bus station with the city centre and outlying residential districts. A new tram line was also built, while another was refurbished. The purchase of 50, low-floor, articulated trolleybuses means that 90% of the entire trolleybus fleet will have been renewed, while improved routing and the provision of lanes dedicated to public transport facilitated the movement of public transport vehicles around the city.

The experience of passengers was improved by installing 400 new bus shelters, along with the provision of electronic public transport information boards at public transport stops, which are based on the provision of real time information to those waiting. Intelligent traffic systems were also put in place, involving equipment in vehicles and at major junctions in order to enable buses, trolley buses and trams to have priority at these intersections.

Methandrostenolone 10mg TabletsDo you need Missouri Payday Loans as soon as possible? Since its introduction in the market buying Cialis can be exclusively in pharmacy chains with a prescription from a doctor. I agree that this is very inconvenient and takes a lot of time and effort.
