Centre for Transport and Energy (CDE) is a non-profit non-governmental organisation that originated in 2000 by renaming the former Energy Efficiency Programme. The Programme was founded in 1995 as part of the Slunicko Foundation, since 1998 it functioned independently. CDE sees its goal in building and reinforcing a wide platform of groups and individuals who are interested in work towards sustainable transport and energy future.
CDE understand energy efficiency in its broadest possible sense, and therefore their activity comprises also transport and climate change issues. Activity is not confined to the borders of the Czech Republic, CDE participating actively in international networks. CDE's executive director, Petr Hlobil, is the energy co-ordinator of CEE Bankwatch Network (a network of environmental NGOs monitoring the activities of international financial institutions), CDE is a member of INFORSE (International Network for Sustainable Energy), Climate Action Network (CAN CEE) and European Federation for Transport and Environment - T&E.

Children of the Earth (Deti Zeme) is a non-governmental environmental organization, that started up in September 1989, as an unofficial initiative of several ecological activists. Today there are 11 branches of Children of the Earth all over the Czech Republic, with the headquarters in Plzen (Pilsen) in the western part of the country.
The Deti Zeme "Traffic" Programme includes:

Friends of the Earth Czech Republic (Hnuti DUHA) campaigns for environmental solutions on a wide range of issues, with priorities in energy, forests, mining, waste and agriculture, as well as on general environmental policy issues.

National Information System of the public line passenger transport timetables (CIS JR)
The company CHAPS spol. s r.o. (Ltd) has been authorized by the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Informatics to run 'CIS JR' as a part of the Information System of the Public Administration (ISVS) and to collect timetables of bus, railway, air, water and municipal public transport. Timetables of bus transport are supplied to the CIS JR by transport authorities approving particular timetables, other timetables are supplied by carriers operating particular lines.

Prague Public Transit Co. Inc. is the major public transport operator in the territory of the Czech Republic. Almost two thousand metro trains, trams and buses are dispatched every day in Prague and the surrounding region. Prague Public Transit Co. Inc., with the City of Prague as its one hundred per cent owner, was established in 1991 and continues a rich, more than one-hundred-year-old history of its predecessors.
The Metro network is the backbone of the entire PT system with 50 stations and 50 km of tracks. In line with the ongoing trend of making public transport accessible even to persons with impaired mobility recently opened stations have been equipped with lifts or easy-access entrances. Lifts have been added also to older stations if technically possible. Metro Unit also operates the chairlift in the Prague ZOO in Troja.
Trams operate on 24 day and 8 night lines. The Tram Unit manages over 270 km of tracks. It also operates the funicular to Pet?ín and Public Transport Museum at St?ešovice depot.
The Bus Unit operates 206 bus lines /total network length almost 800 km/. 2 special bus lines are dispatched for persons with impaired mobility and 129 low-floor vehicles are guaranteed to operate on regular lines on working days. In connection with introduction and development of Prague integrated transport system the Bus Unit has been also engaged in operation of suburban buses /numerical line 300/ outside Prague.
